Disclaimer: Joss owns them all
Willow looked at the note in her hand. She felt Angelus come up behind her.
"What is it?" he asked, moving to massage her shoulders. He could feel the tension and stress in her.
Spike looked up and moved to kneel in front of her. He placed his chin on her knee and looked into her troubled eyes. "Pet?"
"This is from Giles."
"Bloody hell, I knew you shouldn't have contacted him."
"Spike. We went over that. If I hadn't they might have tried to find me. They have no idea about Angelus. Besides, I told him over six months ago. This is the first time he's written."
"What is it?" Angelus repeated his earlier question softly. They had been together for nine months. Nine happy months. Spike had remained with them, all three growing close. Angelus still had to discipline his childe, but more out of fun than necessity. Willow loved being with them both. It was a thrill to walk into a club with the two handsome men on her arms. She loved the stares of envy. She loved Angelus with all her heart and cared very deeply for Spike. He still loved to call her mother though. She tolerated it, but he knew she hated it. She tried not to let it affect her in hopes he'd stop, but it never worked. She had grown used to it now. Though, out in public, it could be a bit embarrassing.
"What does he want?"
"They need our help. Seems there is a prophecy.."
"Another one?" Spike said in disgust. He didn't want to lose them now that he had them. He was very comfortable now. Unlife was swell. Now, the damn watcher and slayer would fuck it all up. He should have killed them last time he was in Sunnyhell.
"Yeah. Seems some new evil will rise and try to take over. They need the extra help. He says that it is him, Buffy, Xander, Oz, Cordelia, and two people named Tessa and Chip."
"Chip?" Spike snorted loudly. "Must be the slayer's. Who would name their son after a snack food?"
"Spike, I'd say you don't have a lot of room to talk." Willow said, smiling softly. He was trying to make her forget her decision.
"Hey. Spike's a good name. A manly name."
"What-ever. Willow, do you want to help?"
"I don't know. I know that it took a lot for him to write and ask us BOTH to come. It must be very serious. I think I'd regret it if I didn't." she said softly. "If I do, I'm going to be honest. I am not making you live a lie. I love Angelus, not Angel. They need to know that. They might not want our help when they find out, but I think we should try.."
Spike saw Angelus nod in agreement. For Willow, he'd go back and face his enemies. He'd even try not to kill them, for Willow.
"Just bloody great. You two come over here and disrupt my life...make me realize how much fun it could be and then leave. Run back to the slutty little slayer. See if I care." Spike said, turning in disgust.
He felt a hand on his shoulder. His body automatically reacting to her touch. "Spike." She scolded softly, "How could I go back without my favorite son? I love you, you idiot. They can accept it or face the evil alone. I don't really care. We all go, or none of us go" she said firmly. The hurt look in Spike's eyes disappeared.
He looked at her and smiled, "Really?" he said hopefully.
"Besides, who'd keep Angelus in line?"
"Hey now....I can be good. Red, don't encourage the boy." Angelus said, grumbling good naturedly.
Willow mouthed to Spike "Yeah right. I need you."
Spike started to laugh. He pulled Willow into his arms. "Thanks Mom. Nice to know I'm not forgotten." He looked at Angelus. With a twinkle of amusement in his eyes, he said "So, old man, are we there yet?"
