Rupert Giles looked at the group assembled at the table. He held a letter in his hands. They were waiting expectantly.
"I just received this email from Willow. She and Angel will be coming to help. They should be here in a few days. I'm not sure where they are coming from..."
"Who cares?" Xander muttered. "Why did you write her? We don't need them."
"Yes, we do." Giles said, tightly. He understood that the gang had felt betrayed when Willow had run off with Angel, but they needed to forget about the past.
"We may have to ask them for help, but we don't have to be nice." Buffy said, scowling. She had never forgiven her former best friend for lieing to her. She had honestly never wanted to see either of them again.
"Buff is right. We don't have to be friendly to the bitch." Cordelia said, smirking. She had come back to Sunnydale when Angel had run off with the hacker. She had been left with no job and no money. She still hadn't forgotten his treatment of her.
"Guys...she's not a bitch. She was needy. He was in the right place at the right time."
"Oz...get a clue. She was always after Angel. When I found out, I thought back. She had always had a crush on him. I had chosen to ignore it. I know the only reason he's with her is because he can't have me. When they get here, I'll get rid of the bitch. Teach her to take my man."
"Very mature Buffy. She couldn't have taken him if he wasn't willing. And what about Chip?"
"I'd dump him in a heartbeat for another chance with Angel. If he's been fucking my former best friend, it must mean his soul is permanent. There is nothing keeping us apart anymore. Besides, you can swoop in and console the whore."
Giles listened to their bickering. He had been very hesitant in calling Willow and Angel back. If the situation hadn't been life threatening, he would have just left them in peace. He didn't want to be the one to point out to the others that Angel had chosen Willow. HE had been the one to come back to Sunnydale to help her after Oz left. Buffy was being completely oblivious and , well, stupid if she thought Angel would welcome her with open arms. He decided to try to contact Willow and let her know of the plans. He didn't want the girl hurt by her friend's insensitivity. Maybe with a bit of warning, she and Angel could head off the attempt before it began. He hoped so. They had too much to do to spend time playing these childish games. He would send her an email after the others left, he decided.
